Scorpion II Trailer Mounted Attenuator
Product Description
The Scorpion II TL-3 Trailer Mounted Attenuator from TrafFix Devices is the world’s first MASH Tested, Passed, and Eligible Trailer Attenuator.
The Scorpion II Trailer Attenuator little to no modification of the host vehicle and only a factory-standard pintle hook and a ½” x 32x steel frame plate.
In the event of an impact, the Scorpion II TA is designed to crush in progressive, modular stages. This minimizes broken parts on the attenuator, as well as reduces the crash impact on the host vehicle and its occupants.
The Scorpion II’s Telescoping Anti-Rotational System (TARS™) works to minimize the rotation of the trailer during offset or angled crashes while reducing the chance of separation from the host vehicle.
The trailer-mounted Scorpion II demonstrates supreme stability over uneven surfaces thanks to its rear axle placement, keeping it from bottoming out over low surface transitions or driveways.
Size & Specs
he Scorpion II TA is the shortest trailer-mounted attenuator on the market, measuring at only 17’ 10”. It comes standard with an integrated electric brake system, and the brakes are automatically applied should a hitch failure or attenuator separation occur.
Further safety features inclue an omnivolt LED brake, running lights, signal lights, and directional lights.
The Scorpion II TA can be used on support vehicles with a minimum curb/actual weight of 12,000 lbs with no upper weight limit (infinite weight).
Scorpion Truck Mounted Attenuator
Product Description
The TrafFix Devices Scorpion Attenuator is designed with safety and durability in mind.
The Scorpion Truck Mounted Attenuator is built on a support frame and consists of linked cartridge and strut sections.
Each section is capped with energy absorbing cushions, constructed with aluminum boxes that enclose an aluminum honeycomb interior.
The Scorpion TMA is designed to collapse in sections in the event of a crash. This minimizes the damage to the impacting vehicle and allows for easier part replacement and repairs to the host vehicle and attenuator.
The Scorpion’s aluminum curved side rails direct an impacting vehicle away from the host truck’s rear “coffin corners,” avoiding a site of critical damage and injury that is present on many other truck mounted attenuators.
The Scorpion by TrafFix Devices has successfully passed all mandatory and optional TL-3 testing requirements, plus a side angle re-directive impact test that simulates a worst-case impact scenario.
Sled Crash Cushion Attenuator
Product Description
The Sentry Longitudinal Energy Dissipater (SLED) is a water-filled non-redirective gating crash cushion that is MASH Tested, Passed, and Eligible.
The SLED is designed to shield the blunt end of steel, plastic, or concrete barriers and absorb (and disperse) the energy of a vehicle impact head-on.
As sections of the barrier rupture, the impacting vehicle is enveloped by the SLED’s internal steel cables which help maintain its position and minimize the chance of secondary accidents.
Installing the SLED doesn’t require any foundation anchoring, so you can easily set it up and nearly any hard surface, from concrete to gravel to compacted dirt.

The SLED’s slim profile allows you to install the SLED even on narrow shoulders and tightly spaced work zones, and the SLED’s superior flexibility means you can attach it to a variety of barrier sizes and shapes.
